Beldi Black Soap (or Moroccan black soap) is the foundation of traditional black soap: a paste soap made by saponifying olive oil, with no fragrance or additives. It’s the raw version used for generations in Morocco’s hammams, before any customization.
Composition and manufacturing
Made from saponified olive oil (Olea Europaea Fruit Oil), water, and plant-based potash, fully neutralized during saponification, with no added preservatives. Paste-like texture, dark brown to dark green depending on the batch, naturally alkaline pH (9 to 11), microbiological control compliant with NM ISO 17516.
Hammam and professional cosmetic uses
Applied in a layer to damp skin then removed with a kessa glove after a few minutes, it softens surface impurities before exfoliation. Its neutral formula also makes it a reformulation base: brands can add their own fragrance, powder, or active oil to create an exclusive product.
